Looking after your tree

Cut Christmas trees

After you have bought your tree it should be kept outside in a cool, shaded, wind-sheltered place, preferably standing in water, until it is needed indoors.

Before bringing the tree indoors, cut off half an inch from the base in order to open up the pores of the tree. Mount it in a water-holding stand and place it away from direct heat.

Keep the stand topped up with water every day; you will be surprised how much it needs!

Potted Christmas trees

Potted treesThese are Christmas trees that have been grown in the field and placed in pots especialy for the Christmas season.

The trees are small but they are still trees and as such need to be watered and cared for. Remember to place a tray under the pot to prevent water staining!

After Christmas they can either be planted out or re-potted into a larger pot.
